Following our recent call for interest in the vacant position of IAWQ VP, we are pleased to announce that we have 2 candidates running in a by-election for the vacant position.
Candidates for IAWQ VP are: (alphabetical order by last name)

Campaigning will be permitted for 21 days beginning February 27, 2023 and the candidate may campaign by signs and canvassing.
Electronic voting will occur on Monday, March 20th from 7:00 am – 10:00 pm and the election will be conducted by an independent third-party entity, Simply Voting, as per the IAWQ Constitution. Results will be announced to all members via an email and will be posted on the IAWQ website upon completion of the electronic vote tally by the third party (Simply Voting) on Tuesday, March 21, 2023
An email will be distributed to members outlining the Simply Voting election process once the election setup is completed.

Article 10: Election procedure
The election of the members of the Executive of the Association will be performed by an electronic voting process as follows:
a) The elected offices are those of the President, 1st and 2nd Vice-Presidents. Treasurer and Secretary;
b) Any vacant office will be filled by the Executive on an interim basis, until the next election as per Article 15;
c) If there is more than one candidate for any vacant office, an electronic voting process will be implemented.
Article 15: Vacancy on the Executive
Section 1:
Vacancy of any office on the Executive, whether it be the result of a resignation, suspension, expulsion, etc., must be filled within thirty (30) days when the vacancy becomes official.
In the event of a vacancy, a chain of command may advance with acceptance from Executives remaining.
The Executive will name the member who will act for the remainder of the term of the position in question if the vacancy is twelve (12) months or less. Any vacancy thirteen (13) months or more will result in a by-election as per Article 10.
